Personal Annotations?

Is there a way to make an annotation on a part (using the iPad app), and have it only show up for you?  I want to make notes for myself, but not have everyone else see them.

Yes, you can turn on Settings > Account Sync > Personal Sync > Document Annotations. Any annotations you make while this setting is enabled will only appear for you. You will still see the shared annotations if you don't enter any personal annotations for a document.

Note that the annotations for a given document are saved as one value. So if you add personal annotations for a document, and then someone else underlines a word in that document, you won't see that underline. In other words, new shared annotations are not merged into the display of your personal annotations.
