Alternative to full screen documents: Scalable document viewer?

I've been reading the forum and I discovered that tapping a document to make it full screen is going to be phased out. My understanding is that it seems to be an inherit source of bugs and the simplest solution is to just use a separate layout with a full screen document viewer.

What about this as an alternative: a combined song list/document viewer item that has a scalable bar between them, much like the main menu system that's already in band helper. The user can drag the slider to have either more of the document or more of the song list. Perhaps there could also be a single button to alternate between two preset sizes.

That would retain the problems involved with resizing a document while viewing it, and might add similar problems with the song list because then it would also be resized.

Regarding "a single button to alternate between two preset sizes," you can accomplish that by creating two layouts and switching between them.

Alright that makes sense.

The only issue with changing layouts is that it's a little slow since you need to tap the "change layout" button in the top menu bar and then choose the layout from the sub-menu. This requires two clicks at the least.

Would it be possible to create a button that you can place anywhere on your layout that acts a direct shortcut to another preselected layout with one press? In this case, that can be a full a screen doc layout. You could also put the same button on your full screen doc layout that links back to the previous layout?

You can use the Next Layout and Previous Layout app control actions. If you only have two active layouts, then either of those actions will toggle to the other layout.
