Serious recordings mismatch on iPad

I've been having an issue where trying to play back the recording for a song that's being displayed after selection from Set-list view seems to not be playing the recording that's actually attached to the song.  Many times it will show that it's playing, but no actual audio will be heard, but when I scroll with the media controls it will kick in, only to find it's not the song that is actually allocated to the active song.

When holding down the speaker icon to see the list of audio files attached I select the only one there (already checked off) and restart the recording and it's still on the wrong one.

I've gone so far as removing the whole app from my iPad and reinstalling & resyncing it.  My Android phone works fine as does the web interface, so it appears to be isolated to my iPad.

Drilling back to the song entry I see the recording in there but some of the broken ones just seem silent on the ipad while playable everywhere else.  Also tried deleting the downloaded file for one of them and re-downloading and still not quite there.

Drilling to the BandHelper folder from VLC I see the locally downloaded file and it appears to play fine... it's just within BandHelper that things are going sideways.
