Best practice stepping through Setlist via MIDI

Hey there,

We are using BandHelper with our Coverband and its working really well.

I'd like to have some advice/best practice to handle this requirement:

BandHelper gets a Midi Track to select songs via MIDI PCs which is working the way it should. When we finish a Song BandHelper stays at the finished song. When our drummer starts the new Song, BandHelper selects it. The problem is that the songs starts to load when our drummer starts the song, which sometimes is to fast to read notes we made above the song (e.g. "Full Band" or "Just Drums").

I know that i can tell BandHelper to switch to the next song when finished, but then the autoscroll starts and it should only start when our drummer starts the song.

Is there a way to make BandHelper do what i want? :-)

I can't tell from your description what the problem is. But if you want to view a song when the previous song ends, but have some time before starting actions on the new song, you can use the Song Second Selection trigger in the App Control actions instead of the Song Selection trigger. Then selecting a song would simply display it, and reselecting would start actions like Start Auto-Scroll.

If that doesn't help, please describe the problem in more detail; in particular, I'm not sure what you mean by "the song starts to load" and "notes we made above the song."

Hey Arlo, thanks for your quick answer.

I'll try your suggestion!

With "the song starts to load" I mean, that Bandhelper starts the song.
With " notes we made above the song" I mean that sometimes we need some hints to remember how the song starts, which instruments are involved etc. If the song comes up when our drummer hits play the click track starts and we have basically no time to read the notes since it directly starts.

So we would like to have the new song selected immediately after the previous song is finished but the auto scroll should only start when BandHelper gets the MIDI command to switch to the song.

I think that with your suggestion i can make it work!
