Severe issue with iOS 17.7.7

I received multiple help tickets today about BandHelper failing to log in after updating to iOS 17.7.7. Apparently this is an iOS issue that affects all apps:

If you are using iOS 17, I recommend skipping the 17.7.7 update. If you have automatic software updates turned on, you can turn that off in the iOS Settings app at General > Software Update > Automatic Updates.

If you already updated to iOS 17.7.7 and are seeing this problem, you will need to downgrade to iOS 17.7.6, or wait and see if someone discovers a workaround (I'll update this page if I hear of one), or wait until Apple fixes this with another update.

Update: Apple has stopped distributing iOS 17.7.7, so it seems they are aware of the issue.
