Set names in layouts?

Hi Arlo,

I've noticed that in layouts using the "title" field, "BREAK" is inserted between sets. I generally like to title my sets using the custom set name feature. Would it be possible to have the title of the set shown? It can be helpful with keeping us on track when we have multiple sets, just as an indicator of what set is coming up next.

I'd also be very happy to hear any workarounds you know of that might work similarly.

Thanks!

arlo

When you reach a break in your set list, the document viewer shows the word "BREAK" because I think that's more natural than showing the name of the next set. But if you view the song list, you will see the set name as a heading on top of the next set.

What is an example of a set name you're using that you would want to see when reaching the break before that set?

Other than the next set name, I can imagine putting custom text like "break for 15 minutes" "Set start time @10:30", etc.

Thanks for the reply, Arlo! I sometimes will have them labelled as "earlier set" or "later set" but often just have them numbered. I also have gone back and forth with having encores separated by a pause or with a set break, I'm not sure which I prefer.

On a related note, it would be great to be able to enter custom longer-form text into the set that could be displayed (rather than just a pause name) in cases where it would be helpful to have more text than will fit on one line without being truncated, but I also recognize that may require a considerable amount of dev time to implement for Arlo. Amazing if it shows up in a future update but totally understand it not being included at this time.

You can turn on Settings > Appearance > Break Timer and then a countdown timer starting from the break duration will appear when you reach the break.

What's the value of seeing "Later Set" or "Set 2" instead of "Break" when you get to a set break? I think being clearly told "now it's time for a break" is more valuable and relevant than being told at the end of set 1 that the next set is set 2.

You can go to Repertoire > Pause Names, edit a pause name and add more text to the Details field. That will display when you get to a pause in the set list.
