Connecting MIDI Maestro with Bluetooth

I bought a MIDI MAESTRO footswitch from Singular Sound.

I can connect it to BandHelper. However, at first, nothing happens. Only when I turn MIDI off and then back on does the footswitch work.

Is it supposed to be like this, or am I doing something wrong?

How are you connecting the foot switch to the mobile device?

What platform and OS version are on the mobile device?

I have an iPad 6 with iOS 26.1. And then the MIDI Maestro footswitch.

I turn on the pairing mode on the footswitch. Then I press the MIDI button in the top toolbar and go to 'Connect to Bluetooth Device' and then it says MIDI Maestro connected.

By the way, in the selection of Bluetooth MIDI devices, there are also devices listed that I no longer use. For example, an iRig BlueBoard and another MIDI Maestro.
Is it possible to remove these devices from the list?

Now nothing happens at first. Only when I stop the MIDI transmission (by pressing the green button labeled 'MIDI running') and then press this button again (which is now gray and labeled 'MIDI stopped'), the footswitch works as expected.

Is this normal?

Okay, this is an issue with iOS 26 when connecting to some Bluetooth MIDI devices. I'm hoping Apple fixes that in iOS 26.2, and if they don't, I'll submit a bug report.

You can remove old Bluetooth devices from the list by swiping to the left and clicking the Forget button.

Well then, let's wait for Apple and iOS 26.2.

It is supposed to be released between December 9 and 15, 2025.
