Page turner help!

I am pretty new to the app, and bought a page turner to toggle between songs and scroll mid song. I only use the app for lyrics.

I can add the device to my iPad, but none of my apps will actually respond to the page turner when I click.

I feel very old right now, so if I could get a tiny bit of help, that would be awesome.

The pedal is "gear4music"'s own device.
I have gone thru the set up as proposed on the help page. But no success
