Parent Preset

I am a keyboardist and let my program changes be controlled via MIDI presets from Bandhelper. I have assigned one preset (piano) as a master preset to each song. This preset is always called whenever no other preset is specified in the respective song.

However, if a preset is assigned to a specific song, the master preset is briefly called first before it then jumps to the assigned preset. This is very unpleasant for "seamless sound switching".

Is this behavior normal, or can Bandhelper be set so that when a song is assigned a preset, it calls it immediately without going through the master preset?

Can you describe specifically how you are setting up your presets, using a specific example? Alternatively, you can submit a help ticket and tell me a song to look at so I can look at your setup.

Also, what exactly is the problem you are seeing? You mentioned "seamless sound switching"; do you mean you're playing your keyboard while sending different program changes to it?

Here is a picture.

With the integrated 'SSS' technology (Seamless Sound Switching), the MONTAGE allows seamless and uninterrupted switching between two performances without cutting off the sounds being played.

One screen shot doesn't give much insight into your setup. Let's put it this way: what data is BandHelper currently sending (please use a specific example) and what data do you want it to send instead?

I send a picture.
I have always opened a new ticket with the Subject "Parent Preset". There I've allready send the Troubleshoot-Info.

Hope, you can help - here or in the Help Desk...

Okay, after looking at your setup for the song in your screen shot, I think you're talking about a MIDI preset named "Klavier/E-Piano" that you have pinned to all songs. It seems the German translation for that is confusing. I'll talk to the translators about that.

Anyway, you have the Send MIDI and Send Pinned MIDI actions both assigned to Song Second Selection. You cannot make the Send Pinned MIDI action run only when a song doesn't have a specific MIDI preset attached to it. Instead, you will need to unpin the "Klavier/E-Piano" preset and attach it directly to the songs where you want to use it.
