Accept "N.C." as a chord in ChordPro

Hi Arlo

I have a question regarding ChordPro imports.

Quite a few songs on Ultimate Guitar use [N.C.] ("No Chord") in sections where no chord should be played. When I import those songs into BandHelper, lines containing [N.C.] often don't seem to be recognized as valid ChordPro lines, so the formatting gets messed up.

Is there a recommended way to handle [N.C.] in BandHelper, or could BandHelper treat it as a valid chord during the import process?

Thanks a lot as always,
Chris

Can you show an example of the problem? Anything in square brackets should be positioned above the lyrics the same way, regardless of whether it's a chord name or not.

Yes, sure.

I just tried it with the lyrics of "The Way You Make Me Feel" by Michael Jackson.

Screenshot 1: After pasting the lyrics from UG
Screenshot 2: Press the convert ChordPro button (remove brackets)
Screenshot 3: Press the convert ChordPro button again

Everything gets written correctly, but not the line with "N.C." as a chord.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! :)

Here are the lyrics if you want to try it out yourself:

[Verse 1]
E            D/E           E          D/E
Hey pretty baby with the high heels on
E             D/E             E      D/E
You give me fever like I've never, ever known
E               D/E        E     D/E
You're just a product of loveliness
E            D/E            E          D/E
I like the groove of your walk, your talk, your dress
A             G/A        A      G/A
I feel your fever from miles around
A               G/A      A             B
I'll pick you up in my car and we'll paint the town
E              D/E      E       D/E
Just kiss me baby and tell me twice
E                 D/E     E
That you're the one for me

[Chorus]
N.C.                E                 D/E     E
The way you make me feel (the way you make me feel)
           D/E     E              D/E     E
You really turn me on (you really turn me on)
             D/E       E                  D/E       E
You knock me off of my feet (you knock me off of my feet)
          D/E      E               D/E      E      D/E
My lonely days are gone (my lonely days are gone)

The Convert to ChordPro function only works with chord names, so you would need to manually put brackets around the "N.C." and position it within your lyrics.

Thanks a lot, that's what I currently do to work around this.

So my question was, if there is a chance to treat "N.C." as an actual chord as in quite a lot of cases this is coming up and I woudl then need to manually re-work those lines.

I also tried to put brackets to "N.C." before the conversion, but the [C]-Button would only remove those brackets again first and then the result is the same again.
