Help with built-in tuner button functionality

I love the new feature of the tuner button in SLM and it worked great for me until I changed some of the settings (possibly when I allowed the app to play audio in the background). Ever since then the tuner button no longer picks up audio. The app has microphone permission in the device settings but I'm wondering what other settings would prevent the SLM tuner from working.

I think you're talking about BandHelper, because Set List Maker doesn't have a tuner function.

What platform and OS version are you using?

Oh my goodness! Yes, you're right, I am on BandHelper. I'm using it (and having the same issue) on iPhone and iPad on the latest OS (26.5.2) for both.

Do you see the orange dot at the top of the screen when you open the tuner, indicating that the microphone is activated?

Yes, the orange dot is present.

This seems to be an issue with iOS 26.5, but it happens inconsistently across my devices. I posted about it to a developer forum, and if I don't get any help there, I'll have to report this as a bug to Apple. They might respond to that in a couple years, or never. Hopefully they're already aware of the problem and will fix it in an upcoming iOS update.
