I was wondering how to create a backup of my setlist maker files.
I tried following the FAQ, but i still coudlnt figure it out: If I want to do it through itunes etc. how do I go about that. What are the directions... I went into the device sync tab, entered my password etc, but then it seems I cant go any further without being charged.   I guess I have to pay to back these up?

ANyway, I am on the select upgrades screen and want to know how to go further. What should I select?
Thanks

To back up to iTunes, just plug your device into your computer with a USB cable. iTunes should launch automatically and you should see a display of iTunes going through various syncing steps. The first step is backing up your device.

To back up using the app's built-in database sync feature, you can use these instructions:

By the way if i try to update to install the latest version 4.8  or whatever it is,  will it erase all my song lyrics?

hmm, also I bought the $3.99 service..sync with other devices, because it seems I had to.  but  I am getting a message on my ipad "we were not able to upload your changes to the sync service (209)"  \when i look on the ipad it still says  Last synced: never.    Ive tried resetting the ipad etc but nothign works.

as for the usb hookup to my laptop, I see stuff happening on itunes when I plug the ipad into the  laptop with the usb, but there doesnt seem to be a way to be sure it saved,. Its just a few words on the screen that say 'updating 1 of 3' etc.  then go away and I have no idea if it really did save, or where.

There is no upgrade that will erase your song lyrics. However, it's always smart to back up before installing a new OS or app version.

I can look into that if you send a message from Help > Request Tech Support in the app.

In iTunes, you can open the Preferences window and click the Devices tab, and you'll see a list of the most recent backup for each of your devices. Beyond that, there's no way to verify the contents of a backup, but I've restored from these backups numerous times and have never seen them fail.
