Title: Commands from boss gt-10 to ipad via iconnect
Post by: daveil on February 27, 2016, 05:42:52 AM
Hi all

Anyone did that configuration, maybe with another multieffect pedal?
I read in the forum that the ipad can send commands to the processor, but I need the other way around
What I'm thinking is via the midi out, to iconnect, to ipad
But before shopping, want to make sure it works..
If anyone succeeded, do share the configuration and setup

Thanks

David

What action on the iPad do you want to trigger with the Boss pedal?

Start stop scroll
Next song
Down

But I'd like to see if it's possible and what hardware is needed

It doesn't necessarily have to be the gt 10
Any footpedal with midi out and iPad
I'm looking for how to set it up and if it works properly

Instructions for remote control from a MIDI device are on this page:

http://www.arlomedia.com/apps/setlistmaker/tutorials/remote_control.html

You will need to find out what MIDI messages your Boss or other device can send. You can then tap the options on the Settings > Remote Control page to see all the actions that each kind of message can trigger.

Hello Daveil, Your post is pretty old, so it may be irrelevant by now. Did you succeed with your GT-10?

I use my Android units to change patches on a Boss GT-100 when I select a song in my BandHelper setlist. And I use the GT-100 to start and stop background recording in BandHelper. The only extra hardware I use is an USB/MIDI cable connected to the GT-100 (Android OTG). The communication works well both ways between the units.

Your scenario is pretty much the same, so I am interested to hear if you succeeded with your setup.
