That was a deliberate decision to provide the functionality most people were looking for without making the setup significantly more complicated.
Taking this further to support pinning different items to different pauses is still on my wish list.

Hopefully you mean you selected the Pinned To All Pauses option for a MIDI preset. This setup does not require attaching presets to other presets.

No, because Pinned To All Pauses and Pinned To All Songs are separate options. If you want to access a preset from pauses, you can use the first option; if you want to access a preset from songs, you can use the second option; and if you want to access a preset from songs or pauses, you can use both options.

I don't quite understand your question. But if you are trying to sync a recording with a tempo, you can use Settings > Audio & MIDI > Delay Tempo; if you are trying to sync with an SMF file, you can use Settings > Audio & MIDI > Delay SMF Data; and if you are trying to sync with an automation track, you can make the start time of the recording earlier within the automation track. If you are asking whether the Bluetooth delay will be consistent across different hardware, I don't know.

As you may have noticed from the thread http://forum.arlomedia.com/index.php/topic,2855.msg15047.html#msg15047, we seem to share similar issues regarding MIDI Presets and/or Automation in Pauses.
Just like you, the only workaround I found so far is indeed to use short 'dummy' songs that only contain a short automation track to get the desired actions done.
Where Arlo is correct, it is a bit of a pain for consistency and maintaining setlists, so I for a better solution in the future.
Should you find an alternative workaround, I would be eager to learn as well!

1) when selecting the MIDI Preset Order to make Raw MIDI 1st, this reverts back to Program Changes bring first.
2) This second line is ignored.

F0 43 10 7F 12 0A 00 00 44 F7 <—- no effect
Any insights or suggestions are appreciated.

I am experimenting with this new feature but think I may not quite understand the solution and may need some assistance. For me, the recent changes, including the moving of the layout actions and MIDI actions, have been causing me some serious headaches during performances. Most likely, this is because I seem to misunderstand.
But back to the topic: I followed your directions and attached MIDI presets to pinned presets, which indeed now show correctly in the pause. However, if I understand the implementation and your proposed course of action of sending pinned MIDI presets upon song selection, wouldn't that mean that pinned MIDI presets are sent with every selection of a song or a pause, and not just during the pauses? If the position of the pinned MIDI presets is then also different between the pauses and songs, doesn't this create more confusion?
Again, it may very well be that I am completely missing the vision behind these changes and may need some additional help here.
