Most of the time I just use Lyrics as the document for my songs. But occasionally I add a pdf too.
Pressing and holding the document button to get a pull-down list is nice, but I can never remember which songs I've added the extra docs to, and that's a slow way of finding out.
It would be nice if there was a different Document icon to indicate that there is more than one document available. E.g. an icon showing a stack of pages instead of a single page?

This is on my wish list and I'll add a vote for you. Meanwhile, do you have room in your layout to add the Multiple Document Buttons? This can be added either to the song list or to the song detail area. Then you'll see a button for each attached document (including the built-in lyrics).
You can also tap the right third of a document or lyrics and if there are additional documents or lyrics available, that will cycle through them.
