So I decided to try the new Smart Copy feature this morning. Pretty cool. I noticed that when you CLEAR an automation track on a smart copy, it does not clear but actually reverts to the automation track in the parent copy.
Just a heads up because it confused me for a while till I figured out what was happening.
That sounds right. That's how all the fields in a smart copy work: parent values automatically cascade down to the smart copies when empty. As a result, you can't have an empty field in a smart copy when the same field in the parent copy is not empty.
If you need an empty field, you can probably use a space or a dot - a common workaround
