Title: Scroll Up/Down from a Morningstar MC6 - Newbie help
Post by: DamenP on May 21, 2024, 09:48:11 PM
Hello
Long time user but first time poster.
I use bandhelper on my ipad for lyrics and chords in a live situation and mostly use auto scroll. For the times that when I need to scroll up or down I would like to use one of the spare switches on my Morningstar MC6 MK2 Midi controller. I have connected to the ipad via a lightning photo usb adapter and am getting a signal through to the ipad showing on the activity log in BH.

I cannot figure out what to send from the midi controller to bandhelper...and then how to assign the message to the scroll up function.

Thanks Arlo

I ending up figuring it out through trial and error. The MC6 can send any CC it needs to but I was having trouble understanding what CC number to use. On my ipad the CC number does not show (see image) so I was guessing. Also the tutorial makes no reference to Control Changes, only note messages so I was a bit confused.

All good now.

For the record, the controller numbers for MIDI General Purpose Button 1-4 messages are 80-84:

Did you enlarge the text size on your iPad? That could cause the labels to not fit in the picker popup.
