Title: Mac: scrolling lists and documents
Post by: joebear on October 28, 2024, 03:46:12 PM
On my Mac install, I can scroll documents and lists using the scroll wheel on my mouse. However, click and drag (i.e. like tap and drag on iPad) does not scroll. In fact, it seems to do nothing.

Is there a setting somewhere which would enable scrolling via click and drag?

I don't see a way to do this in macOS apps that started as iOS apps. I saw one developer post suggesting that you can scroll with a click-drag in macOS 15, but I haven't updated to that yet myself. Have you?

I also saw a suggestion than it will work if I end support for Intel Macs, but I probably won't do that until Apple requires it.

P.S. I see that you can click and drag the scroll indicator on the right side of any scrolling list. That's consistent with how other Mac windows work. It's hard to see against a PDF unless you created PDFs with dark backgrounds, but it's there.
