Title: Midi out to hardware
Post by: KeytarPaul on February 06, 2025, 06:29:03 PM
Is there no way to play a midi file and the performance data transmit over USB-C from an iPad to a midi keyboard? It can only play to an SF2 file loaded in BH?

Now I'm trying it with an Sf2 sound file I have loaded into BH.
It does work but I'd like to use a particular synth if it's possible.

If you attach an SMF file to a song, it plays like a recording and renders audio using a local SoundFont file. If you attach an SMF file to a MIDI preset, it sends all its data out to other devices, but you can't control it with the recording controls; it just starts running and runs to the end.

Playing an SMF like a recording but with the data sending to another device instead of rendering locally is on my wish list and I'll add a vote for you.
