Title: Add same tag for different projects
Post by: ChrisMikolaj on August 31, 2025, 07:31:42 AM
Hi Arlo,

I'm using a tag called "Repertoire" to mark songs that are well-rehearsed and solid enough to be considered part of our active setlist.

The tricky part: some songs are used in multiple projects. A song might be "Repertoire" in one project, but not in another. When I add the same song to different projects, it sometimes already carries the "Repertoire" tag—although that only applies to a different project.

Since I'm using smart lists to track repertoire, I currently apply the same list across all projects. One idea I had was to create tags like "Repertoire – Project 1", "Repertoire – Project 2", etc., but that would quickly multiply the number of tags and add extra maintenance.

Do you know of a smarter way to handle this? Or is creating project-specific Repertoire tags the only way to go?

Many thanks as always,
Chris

You can't assign different tags in different projects. But within each project, you should only see the tags that are in that project. So if you create a separate Repertoire tag for each project, you will only see the one for to the project you're viewing.

Alright, so basically like I thought. I've now just added a "Repertoire Project XYZ" tag to each project and assigned those individually per project. The smart list looks at "Contains = Repertoire", so all of the tags are pulled together and I can use one smart list, which is assigned to all projects.

That should do the trick.

Thanks! :)
