I'm running two different iPads, a Pro running iOS 26 and an old air2 running 15.8.5, both updated three days ago. Previously, BandHelper integration to BeatBuddy was great, in fact rock solid for years (I was an early BeatBuddy adopter). But now, after these updates, selecting a song on BandHelper gives unpredictable results. First, even the song selection process on BandHelper has become slow. Highlighting of selection is slow as is button highlighting when pressed. The BeatBuddy sometimes will respond correctly for the first 2-3 songs, then either a totally different song will come up or the pedal stops responding altogether. I've reinstalled the BandHelper on both iPads with same result. I've tried a different midi controller (I use a Yamaha md01). Same result. I've ordered a different midi cable for the BeatBuddy but I don't really think it's that. I'm thinking that the next logical thing to do is to make sure that BandHelper is sending midi data (using activity log through the midi button?
I've heard that the latest iOS updates are causing some midi havoc and seem to remember something similar with iOS 14?
Any help, suggestions etc are greatly appreciated. i don't think this needs a help ticket yet.

I have had similar problems with beatbuddy becoming unresponsive or not selecting the right song despite correct midi being sent...
I found that the midi adapter cable supplied with the bb was coming loose when attached to the midi input socket on the bb.... This was happening more frequently - to the point where I ended up melting hot glue around the connection to keep it in place... this completely resolved my problem. This may be your issue...
Next step for me is to install some 1/8" stereo sockets wired to the midi inside the bb... Never understood why Singularity Sound used such a flimsy connection....

Can you quantify "slow"? I'm looking at the current app version on a 2017 iPad Pro with iOS 17 and a 2024 iPad Air 5 with iOS 26 and I'm not noticing any difference from previous app versions.
I haven't heard of any MIDI issues, but looking at the activity log to check what BandHelper is sending is a good idea.
I imagine the loose cable issue described by davelson would cause the BeatBuddy to not respond to messages, but I can only imagine that affecting BandHelper if it somehow created a loop that redirected a lot of MIDI data back into BandHelper.
Found the issue... somehow, the updates may have "upset" the network settings on the iPads. Doing a reset on both iPads cleared up all of the issues.
By the way, my iPad Air2 with the slow response is from 2014 and runs 15.8.5. Can't update anymore.
I do appreciate your help on this. I stumbled into the solution while fixing an AppleWatch issue for the wife.

Okay, good!
