Title: MIDI tempo doubled
Post by: ElleMrLA on January 23, 2026, 10:03:08 AM
I output the MIDI tempo via Bandhelper. That works so far.

Only the tempo is doubled on the receiving device (Montage M).
Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to adjust something in Bandhelper so that the tempo is reproduced 1:1?

Do you have another device that is also sending MIDI beat clock, or that is using a MIDI Thru function to repeat the beat clock messages it's receiving from BandHelper?

Otherwise, please submit a help ticket to troubleshoot:

Yamaha still hasn't replied.

What I did find out, however, is that both MIDI Port 1 and MIDI 2.0 each send the MIDI clock, which doubles the tempo.

Now I don't know how to set up Bandhelper so that either only MIDI Port 1 or MIDI 2.0 is used.

I could use your help with this.

PS: It seems the issue is with Bandhelper and not with YAMAHA after all...

Are you saying the Yamaha keyboard opens two MIDI ports and then combines the Beat Clock messages from both of them? In that case, you can go to Settings > Tempo & Pitch > Send Beat Clock To Port in BandHelper and select one port to send to.

That's it at last!
I hadn't checked here yet, only in the Audio & MIDI menu.

Thank you for your help.
