Hi Arlo, it's been a while since I've posted.
I think the app would benefit from a simple "make a copy for this user" function. For example, I made a layout that works really well for my band but individual users may want to make minor tweaks for their own purposes. However, users with "edit added data" accounts can't do so. Instead, I have to manually send them the layout file so they can import back in.
If there was just a "copy to my account" button to let the user make their own copy that they can edit, that would be a lot more efficient.
This can also work for documents or midi presets as well.
Allowing users with Added Data permission to copy items they didn't add is on my wish list and I'll add a vote for you.
Another approach that's also on my wish list is to make the "added user" field editable, so you could copy an item and then set that to the Added Data user you want to transfer the item to.
Meanwhile, Added Data users can create a new layout based on the standard layout templates, then customize that.
