Title: ChordPro Import Questions
Post by: thekenner on June 29, 2026, 09:13:55 AM
I'm new to BandHelper and have over 500 songs in Chordpro format that I'll be importing.  The batch import worked (mostly) but all the section labels are missing from the {start_of_verse}/{end_of_verse} and {start_of_chorus}/{start_of_chorus}.  I understand that I can add them all back in manually with #  Heading, but for 500 songs that's a bit arduous.  Am I missing something?

The transpose is also doing some odd things. Transposing from a sharps key to a flats key (ie from E to F) produces some wrong chords.  Instead of Bb I get A#. I tried setting the personal transpose setting to flats, but nothing changed.  What am I missing?

To use ChordPro environment directives, you can go to Repertoire > Text Styles and add a text style for Verse, Chorus, Bridge and Comment and set the corresponding ChordPro Style for each. Then import your ChordPro files. If you already the files, you can delete the newly created songs using the date filter and the batch delete function on the Repertoire > Songs page of the website, then import them again.

BandHelper adds sharps when transposing up and flats when transposing down. So to transpose from E to F and get flats, you can transpose up an extra half step to F#, then back down to F.
