I'm currently sending a simple midi PC and tempo data to my Fractal Audio FM9 guitar rig that triggers when a song is selected in band helper. When it (the fractal) receives the midi it selects the appropriate preset for that song and sets the tempo...all is good. I'd like to be able to disable the PC but keep the midi tempo active so I can use a single preset on the fractal when appropriate. The challenge is that the only way I found to achieve this is to go to SETTINGS> APP CONTROL> SEND MIDI and delete the action "SONG SELECTION". Then I have to reverse the steps to reactivate the function when I want to use multiple presets on the fractal. Is there any way to streamline this operation? Can custom layouts be created that WON'T SEND MIDI PC's but still send tempo data? I appreciate any suggestions. I originally tried to duplicate the songs in Band Helper and omit the midi presets on one copy but having hundreds of songs with the same name is very cumbersome even with multiple accounts and it causes strange behavior within BH. Thanks for your help!
Are you setting the tempo on the Fractal by playing a tempo in BandHelper with the Send MIDI Beat Clock setting turned on, or are you doing that with some other MIDI message in your MIDI presets?
I'm sending tempo using the Send MIDI Beat clock
In that case, another option is to go to Repertoire > MIDI Devices, edit the Fractal device and turn off the Active switch. But I don't know if that's significantly faster than adding and removing the app control action.
