If you look at the attached screen capture, you'll see that the full name of the item that the layout is sorting on doesn't fully print out "Brooks..." instead of Brooks Bowman and Carole K... instead of Carole King. I've looked, but I can't find what to change to allow the full line to display.
Please tap the Help button and then tap About and tell me what Android version is shown there.

Since I wrote this I discovered that if I rotate the table to horizontal then back again, it fixes. But during performance my tablet is in a fixed position in a holder so, that's not a useful work-around.
2.1.14 would be the app version -- what's the Android version?

By the way, if you use the built-in Artist field instead of a custom field, the shortcuts and section headings will be grouped by first letter (A, B, C rather than Aerosmith, Beatles, Cream).
