You shouldn't need an Internet connection to jump to other apps. I just put my iPad into Airplane Mode and tried one of the app buttons I'd set up and it worked fine.

ok it's working with this syntax:

name of the app:// ---> Open this app

It's not really the name of the app, it's the app scheme, which may or may not be defined for an app and may or may not be the same as the name.

Also, you don't need to include :// at the end, but it won't hurt if you do.
