Title: Can a layout offer all the smart copies?
Post by: Papa John on December 17, 2022, 03:30:18 PM
We made various different smart copies of songs for each member of the band.  Is there a way to add a song to a set list yet have all the smart copies available so each person can display their version without having to make a separate set list for each person?

No, this sounds like a use for the Personal Sync fields. What parts of the song do you want to personalize for different band members?

Hi Arlo.  We each get different lyrics and Chords mostly.

For some differences, vocal replies etc,  I use different colours on the main view.
Personal when it gets harder.

If someone wants customized lyrics or chords, they can turn on the corresponding Personal Sync option on the Settings > Account Sync page. Then the song edit pages will show a Personal Lyrics or Personal Chords field, and whatever they enter their will appear instead of the Shared Lyrics or Shared Chords when viewing a song.

Smart copies are used to create different versions of a song rather than personalized info for the same version of a song.

Thanks for the replies.  Looks like the best solution in my situation is to use smart copies and make separate set lists for each person.

No, the best solution is to use the Personal Sync fields. That will be much easier to manage than making separate copies of the songs and separate versions of the set lists.
