Title: Unable to add a new song to a show.
Post by: Mattwilko on June 30, 2014, 07:30:25 AM
Hello. After updating to 4.0 I am no longer able to add a song to a show during a song without it stopping the recording that is playing. This was a very helpful feature of the previous SLM version as we could take requests and edit our show as we went along without stopping the show.
Is there something in settings we can change or do you have any other solutions we could try?
Any help on this and other recent problems would be very much appreciated.

I didn't realize people were doing this, so I didn't think about carrying that capability over into the new version. I'll see if I can bring it back and will post here if I can.

Here's sort of a work-around. I usually perform from a Smart List. I that case, I don't need to "add" songs, just choose the next one. But yes, we do need to be able to add songs to pre-set Shows on the fly, as the previous song is still playing.

The upcoming version 4.0.4 includes a "Quick Add" button at the bottom of the song list in the show view, and it should work the same as the Add Songs button in previous versions. If you also enable the new Settings > Audio & MIDI > Continue Audio When Changing Songs setting, the audio will continue playing while you add a new song.

This should be available around Monday or Tuesday of next week. All the changes are listed here:

The Edit button will remain there for more detailed edits, but that will interrupt the audio as it does now.
