You should not put the chords in square brackets unless you're embedding them within lines of lyrics. The chords will be transposable if they are on a line consisting only of chords and punctuation marks. If you think the chords should be transposing, please post a screen shot.

Quote from: arlo on February 28, 2025, 04:39:03 PMI think you just need to pinch-zoom the lyrics to make them slightly larger or smaller so the columns don't break in the middle of a line. Then you can open the document toolbar (triangle icon in the top right corner) and click the aA button to save the text size.

Thanks for the hint. Didn't know that.

It worked perfectly fine. I re-scaled the text and then saved it. For some songs I just added some more line breaks if the scaling did not wrap at the correct places.

Thanks for the explanation, I did the change to monospace font, but within the lyrics-field I cannot find a way, that this
| A . . . | A . D E |
| A . . . | A . D E |
Notation is transposable. If I put the chords in [A] it says
|  . . . |  .  |
|  . . . | . |
under the chords, like a lyric text.
The method of writing it into the chords field doesn't work either, since the chord progression is then always displayed separately and not in the text flow at the point where the solo should take place, for example, between two lyric lines. Is there a way to do this?

Other Help / Re: End of Amazon Appstore
Last post by arlo - February 28, 2025, 10:53:55 PM
I think this only affects people using the Amazon app store instead of the Google Play store on non-Amazon devices (i.e., Kindle Fire devices can still use the Amazon store).

I don't think there are any non-Amazon devices that can't use the Google Play store, so if you have a non-Amazon device and you were using the Amazon app store, you can start using the Google Play Store instead. However, any apps you bought from Amazon, you will have to buy again from Google.

If you're in that position with Set List Maker, then instead of buying that again you could consider switching to BandHelper, which is sold through a subscription that covers all the platforms, rather than through different app stores for each platform.

Other Help / End of Amazon Appstore
Last post by Hectic - February 28, 2025, 07:54:20 PM
With the Amazon Appstore shutting down this August, there may be troubles for those of us using Android devices.

Amazon says:
"Starting August 20, 2025, any apps downloaded from the Amazon Appstore will not be guaranteed to operate on Android devices. Amazon Appstore will continue to be available elsewhere, including on Fire TV and Fire Tablet devices."

I'm looking to have a plan in place to not have a loss of data, significant down-time, or need to get a new device.

Any thoughts on how to prep for the Appstore end of service date?

Repertoire Help / Lyrics in two columns being cu...
Last post by high.car3753 - February 28, 2025, 12:48:16 PM
Hi there

I am totally new to Bandhelper. I started using it and added some of the songs I am practicing.
I use the "Chords" section to show the chord progression of the intro of the song. After that, I look below to the Lyrics field, where I have the lyrics and inline chords. I would like to use two columns to make better use of the tablets screen space.

The problem I face now: The lyrics are being cut off at the bottom when wrapping to the second column, as well as disappearing behind the top "Chords" bar. I could not figure out any way to fix this.

Does someone know a solution?

Yes, you can do that. The spacing won't align consistently unless you set Settings > Appearance > Lyrics Font to a monospace font. If you put these into the Chords field, that always uses a monospace font.

Is it possibel to place transponable chords in this style

| A . . . | A . D E |
| A . . . | A . D E |

between lyric lines, for example for a riff or break or short solo?

The recording button doesn't affect videos and the document button doesn't affect recordings.

Instead of clicking those buttons, you can start a video and a recording at the same time by assigning those app control actions to the same trigger:
