That makes sense and is a good workaround. And you exactly described my struggle in forgetting to assign something to the master project.

That's why I every now and then mass edit every item to add it to the master project. Then I'm certain everything is included in there.

Thanks for adding that feature! Looking forward to it and I hope it's not too difficult to implement so it's not wish list item #5128301297  ;D  ;D  (I obviously understand there are other more important items I'm sure  :) )

Thanks guys.
In the end, I don't have that many preset sounds, as starting points, so I've included capo settings inside copies of those.  Yes, it multiplies them but maintaining is not so bad, once it's done.  In fact, I'm now going for a Gamechanger Audio 'Bigsby' pedal (it's better quality and fabulous), so I will only have to change the one set of pitch presets for that and all will work again.
It seemed a messy approach at the outset but it has its advantages.

Thanks all.

Tips and Tricks / iPad battery life fix
Last post by davelson - September 15, 2025, 10:20:57 PM
G'day all

I have been using the most basic iPad for both band members running BandHelper, and noticed that the battery only lasts about 4 hours from 100% - not normally an issue for most nights gigs.... but you really have to ensure a full charge for each gig

To resolve this issue I have used the IOS "Shortcuts" app to start BH and included a command to reduce brightness to 80%. This has been a game changer for us.... Visually very little difference on stage, but nearly doubles the battery life

Cheers

Okay, I'll put that on my wish list. Meanwhile, if you want to see if a certain set name or other item is already in another project, I would search for it on its list page and then switch between the projects until you find it. I think that's easier than making a master project and putting everything into that, because 1) viewing the master project doesn't show you which projects each item is in, and 2) if you forget to assign an item to the master project, it won't appear at all.

Announcements / Re: iOS 26
Last post by arlo - September 15, 2025, 12:53:13 PM
I just found out Apple removed support for iOS 12-14 from its iOS 26 developer tools, so today's update is crashing on devices with those iOS versions. I just released an app version 2025-09-15 that reverts to the previous iOS support, restoring support for iOS 12-14 and removing the new iOS 26 support. That will be the last version that iOS 12-14 devices can download. As soon as Apple approves that, I'll submit version 2025-09-16 to restore support for iOS 26.

Yes, sure!

The main benefit would be to keep a clean data set and avoid redundant work.

I keep several projects (band, duo, solo) with similar structures. Often I think: "I already used this set name / break pattern / contact in another project ..." But then I have to search for it, switch projects, and maybe re-enter it manually.

It would be much easier if – just like songs – I could include all projects for set names, breaks, contacts, recordings, MIDI presets. That way I can:

- See existing items across projects at once
- Add or copy them into the current project without re-creating them
- Keep my projects separate but my data slim, consistent, and reusable

This would remove the need for a "master project" and save a lot of duplicate maintenance.

Can you describe a scenario where you would want to use an "Include all projects" filter on, for example, the set names page?

The new app version 2025-09-10 released today includes app control actions to transpose up and down. You can go to Settings > App Control > Add An Action > Documents > Transpose Up and assign a trigger, then repeat for Transpose Down.

Quote from: ChrisMikolaj on August 31, 2025, 07:11:58 AMI play in several projects and created a "master project" where I keep track of all songs, set names, breaks, contacts, etc., so I have one complete overview. The problem is: Currently only the song list can pull in content from "all projects." Things like set names don't work this way. Maybe there is a plan to have that "Include all projects" button for contacts, set names, breaks, etc. as well? That'd be great to avoid the "master project" :)

Do you have an item on your wishlist to have a button for "Include all projects" for each item, like recordings, MIDI presets, Set names, breaks, etc.? Then I could re-arrange my setups entirely to only work with individual projects. Currently the master project to keep track of all data is still necessary in my opinion.
