MIDI preset also sends song number ?

I'm using song numbers for song navigation in DAW, I also use MIDI buttons with assigned MIDI presets.
All is fine, except every time MIDI preset is sent the MIDI song numbers is sent also.
I would expect song number to be only sent on song selection (as configured), but not when use use MIDI buttons to send a preset.

Is this as designed ?

The MIDI song number should be sent if you simply click the MIDI button, or use the Send MIDI layout action. It should not be sent if you long-press the MIDI button and select a particular preset, or use a Send MIDI Preset 1-10 remote control action. Which are you doing?
