Annotate button gray (so is Open In)

Hi.. I downloaded the app and need to make stylus notes on my songs, but the Annotate button isn't active (and neither is the Open In)... Do you know what I need to do to activate it?  I have the IPad Air.

It sounds like you're viewing lyrics that you've entered into the built-in Lyrics field, because those two buttons only work with attached documents:

oK,  I'll try and attach the docs instead of copying the text from an email into lyrics. 
I love the Ipad Air!
