With faster devices, background operation is becoming more flexible in iOS. Set List Maker and BandHelper now have three ways you can run them in the background while still operating them with remote control (e.g., foot switches):
1) If you use
Device Linking for remote control from another mobile device, and select the wi-fi networking option, slave devices will continue running and respond to remote control messages in the background.
2) If you use
MIDI for remote control from a MIDI device, and turn on Settings > Audio & MIDI > Receive MIDI in Background, your target device will continue running and respond to remote control messages in the background.
3) If you use an
AirTurn PED foot switch and connect it in App-Direct mode, your connected device will continue running and respond to remote control messages in the background. (iOS only)
With any of these options, you can interact with the interface of a different app, while still using features like audio playback, MIDI presets or automation tracks in Set List Maker or BandHelper.
