Crashes in some layouts in iOS 2.5.1

The new iOS app version 2.5.1 that became available yesterday has a bug that will crash any layouts containing the time calculation fields in the bottom toolbar. By default, these are included in the List Only and Dashboard layouts. So if one of those is your default layout for your device orientation, and you select a set list, your app will crash.

This simplest workaround is to rotate your device to the other orientation and try again. If the app still crashes when viewing a set list, that means you have one of the problematic layouts as your default for both orientations.

In that case, you will need to tap Help > Troubleshooting > Reset Layouts, which will change your default layouts to layouts that do not include the time calculation fields, for landscape orientation on a tablet and both orientations on a phone. Then you should be able to view a set list in landscape orientation on a tablet and both orientations on a phone, and you can avoid the crash by avoiding the List Only and Dashboard layouts. Please note that resetting your layouts will remove any customizations that you have made to your layouts. If you have made customizations that you want to keep, please send the Help > Request Tech Support message to me before resetting your layouts. That message contains the data for your custom layouts, which I can send back to you to import later.

After resetting your layouts on a tablet, rotating from landscape to portrait will still cause a crash because List Only is now the default layout for portrait orientation. To further work around that, you can open a set list in landscape, then rotate your device to portrait and quickly change to a different layout. You will have up to ten seconds after rotating before the crash occurs, but you might need to try this a few times to get the timing right.

Once you have different layouts selected so that you can view a set list without a crash, you can import the "List Only - temp" layout attached here. This does not include the time calculation fields, so you can use it instead of the default List Only layout as a temporary solution.

I have already submitted a proper fix to Apple, but it will take an estimated five days for them to release it.

If you have not yet installed version 2.5.1, you can wait until 2.5.2 to avoid this problem.

All right, Apple approved this one in record time. It should be available for download in a few hours.
