Lyrics crash on iOS 7.0.3
« on: October 24, 2013, 05:41:39 PM »
iOS 7.0.3 unexpectedly removed the Helvetica Italic font that Set List Maker uses for formatted text. If you try to display any lyrics, chords or notes that use italics and you have Settings > General Settings > Lyrics Font set to Sans-Serif, the app will crash.

I'll wait to see if Apple restores this missing font in the near future, before finding a new font for Set List Maker to use. In the meantime, you can work around the problem by changing Settings > General Settings > Lyrics Font to anything except Sans-Serif.

Unfortunately, iOS 7.0.4 does not fix the missing font bug. You'll still need to use a different lyrics font if your lyrics, chords or notes contain italics.

Set List Maker version 3.4 adds a new element to this problem. In version 3.4, you can paste formatted text into a field. This means if you paste text containing italics, the app will crash as soon as you paste it. You can still use the workaround above until Apple restores the missing italic font.

iOS 7.1, released today, finally restores the missing font, so you should be able to use Settings > General Settings > Lyrics Font > Sans-Serif again after installing iOS 7.1.
