Background colors

Is there a way to change the background color on the lyric sheet or MIDI panel in layout mode?

If by "lyric sheet" you mean attached document, then no. If you mean the display of the built-in lyrics field, then yes, you can add a Box to the layout and click the box's options button to change its color and then place it behind the lyrics. You can also place a box behind the MIDI buttons or any other section of your layout.
