Has anyone configured Bandhelper to send MIDI System Real-Time Messages to start/stop an outboard sequencer keyboard playing?  Can it be done without using raw MIDI?

If you turn on Settings > Tempo & Pitch > Send MIDI Beat Clock, then play a tempo, the app will send a start message when you start the tempo and a stop message when you stop it -- along with all the clock messages in between. If those a problem and you just want the start/stop messages, you can create a MIDI preset for each message. The raw MIDI is simple: FA for start and FC for stop. You can even pair the stop preset to the start preset, then click the start preset to toggle between them.

Thanks Arlo!!  Any chance of setting multiple tempos in a single song?

You can't set multiple tempos per song or change the MIDI Beat Clock tempo during a song. But if the device you're controlling can respond to tempo changes using some kind of MIDI message, you could set up multiple MIDI presets to send those messages.
