MIDI issues with iPad Air 4

I%u2019m experiencing issues with BH receiving midi commands from the yamaha BT01 on my iPad Air 4th gen. Works fine on my air 2 and I have checked to see that all the settings are correct. Anyone else had this issue or know of a fix?
