Foot pedal - scrolling lyrics in app, as opposed to documents

Hello! I am brand new to using a foot pedal, and have not been able to get my bluetooth Joyo JSP-01 foot pedal to trigger a scroll of my lyrics within the Bandhelper app. 

I am able to get the pedal to trigger a page turn/scroll of a PDF document that is attached to the song file within BandHelper, and to switch between songs.  But most of my lyrics are not separate documents -- I use the in-app lyrics most of the time, and would like to be able to scroll them by using a foot pedal.  I did try assigning the scroll action within bandhelper, but it did not seem to have any effect. 

Would appreciate advice/instructions!  Thank you!

The same app control settings for scrolling PDFs should also work with the built-in Lyrics field.
