Whilst I am waiting to try my iPhone slaved to my friends iPad, can you possibly advise me on another problem only indirectly related to SLM. It is this: my friends ipad2 refuses to be recognised by his iTunes running on Windows 8. He needs to do this in order get recordings into SLM. He has the latest version of iTunes. Specifically I want to be able to create mp3 backing tracks in my studio, send them to him via email or Hightail, and then we wish to add them to SLM on his iPad in order to perform to them. He already has a large collection of tracks in SLM which were added via iTunes/Windows XP with no problem. But his new iTunes on his new Windows 8 PC cannot 'see' his iPad. Can you help? And is this the only route we can take to get the tracks into his SLM on his iPad?

As far as I know, iTunes is the only way to add recordings to the music library on an iPad.

Here's a page for troubleshooting the iTunes/iPad connection:

If that doesn't help, you'd need to contact Apple or try their support communities.
