Sharing - Broadcast actions

After years of using, we finally tried broadcast actions from the main singer's ipad and it is such a great feature.. especially since each can still interact with their own app as usually, only receiving song changes and start scrolling from the singer (in our case).
What i'm curious about is are there any tips to eliminate dropping the connection?  We set it up in sound check, all works good, then break and come back on stage ready to start the show and it was disconnected?  I see this disclaimer in the docs, and i get it's an OS issue, but any tips on minimizing disconnection, or quicker reconnects?

Are the devices going to sleep (screen lock) during the break?

If you do get disconnected, the following devices should be able to reconnect without the lead device prompting again to accept the connection.
