Naming MIDI devices

My bandmate and I both use Bandhelper and Yamaha MD-BT01 to manage preset changes on our Helix devices.  Both devices have unique names in the repertoire.  When setting up at a show or rehearsal though, when I go into the MIDI device connection screen the unique names aren't showing up. It just shows the device type (MD-BT101). So the concern is that we might connect to each other's device. While that might be fun it would probably have a deleterious impact on our show.  The concern is going to be exacerbated as our keyboard player is joining the Bandhelper MIDI fun to handle patch changes on her keyboard.  Is there a way to have unique names appear in the connection menu to avoid confusion?  Am I overthinking this? (probably).

You can use Yamaha's MD-BT01 utility app to rename your two MD-BT01's so you can tell them apart in the Connect To a Bluetooth Device window:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/md-bt01-ud-bt01-utility-us/id1106859013?mt=8

If you have selected "MD-BT01" as the port in the MIDI Device edit window, you will need to update that to select the new name. I recommend leaving the Port set to All so that step isn't necessary.
