Title: devices not syncing using local wifi network

The band has set up a local (as in within the same room) wifi network using a Windows laptop and a Netgear router. No doubt that the network works- each band member can log on to the network and uses the Presonus Studio Live remote app to manage their own monitor mixes. However, Set List Maker doesn't recognize this network and I can't achieve a sync. Conversely, if I try to sync SLM using my traditional wireless network at home, it works correctly.

Does the laptop have anything to do with your network setup, or is the router alone providing the networking?

What do you mean by "doesn't recognize the network" -- what are you doing and what happens when you do it?
