"Filter recordings to include files totalling no more than 500mb"

Hello,

I'm trying to export "all" of my recordings into a file and am receiving the following error message:  "The file is too large. Try filtering recordings to include files totaling no more than 500mg."  OK, so how do I do that?  I tried.  I looked at all the filtering criteria and cannot figure it out.

Can anybody provide steps for "filtering recordings totaling no more than 500mb" so that I can have an export file?

You could enter a date range to get all the recordings uploaded within that range, then move the date range to get the next batch, etc.

Hi Arlo,

With the great option to store uncompressed audio (WAV), the 500MB limit for backups feels a bit tight. I have well over 100 active songs, resulting in close to 4GB of recordings that I'd like to export for offline backup. Splitting that into eight segments gets pretty cumbersome.

Would it be possible to increase the size limit for JSON exports—or alternatively, offer a ZIP export that's more reflective of the actual data size? I imagine that for those of us with large repertoires, lots of automation, and attached documents, having a straightforward and reliable offline backup option would definitely help us sleep better at night!

The 500 MB limit is only for exporting attached files (documents and recordings). The JSON export of your project data wouldn't be anywhere near that size; usually under 1 MB.

If you want to back up 4 GB of recordings, I would recommend backing up your files separately from BandHelper, rather than backing them up by downloading them from BandHelper. In other words, keep a copy of all the audio files you're uploading into BandHelper. The only caveat is that to easily restore them into a BandHelper account, the file names would need to match. Renaming a recording in BandHelper changes its filename. So you would want to set the filenames you want on the files themselves before uploading them into BandHelper, rather than renaming them in BandHelper after they're uploaded.
