Repertoire Help / Re: Page scrolling
Last post by arlo - October 15, 2025, 04:00:59 PM
No, you can't scroll through pages horizontally.

You can scroll through complete pages by opening the document toolbar and clicking the Fit To Height button, and using the up/down hotspots or the Previous/Next Page app control actions to change pages.

Repertoire Help / Page scrolling
Last post by brunonunes.teclas - October 15, 2025, 01:42:05 PM
Hey, Arlo!

Is there a way for me to cycle through a document's pages horizontally rather than vertically?
And is there an option for me to display/cycle a document in a single page fashion rather than a continuos page?

I'm having a hard time getting used to scrolling documents vertically...

Excellent app, by the way!

Okay, I'll put that on my wish list and will post an update here if I can add it.

Having the sound play while the button is held down was what I had in mind!

You would either need to add the duo project to your account and add your duo partner as a user in your account, or add the duo project to his account and add you as a user in his account. You can't share data unless you are both in the same account.

Account Help / Sharing Songs and Sets between...

Hi Arlo,

I've read through several threads about account sharing, so apologies if you've already covered this topic in different ways — but I wanted to clarify what the best approach might be for our situation.

I'm currently playing in several projects, all managed within my BandHelper account, which I share with my bandmates.

Now there's a new duo project, which I've already created in my account — so far, so good.

However, my duo partner also plays in other bands and projects that I'm not involved in.

Our idea was that he would create his own individual BandHelper account so he can manage his own projects independently.

I'd prefer not to upgrade my license to the 6–20 user level just for this, since he should be able to update our shared songs and sets, but also handle his own material separately.

Is there any smart or recommended way for us to keep separate accounts but still collaborate on a shared project?

Thanks a lot for your help!
Chris

Quotecan those changes be saved as well?

Yes, when you use the Edit > Edit Set List button, those changes will be saved.

QuoteThe way I described I think is a more familiar approach for most users. It would be like editing a document and asking to keep or discard changes.

I think viewing a set list isn't similar to editing a document and doesn't have the same expectations about having to save something. Also, anything edited in the main window in the BandHelper app auto-saves without a "do you want to save" prompt, so that wouldn't be consistent with the rest of the app. Finally, a lot of people will simply close the app or turn off their device at the end of the gig and not navigate back out of the set list, so there would be no opportunity to answer the prompt. But I will put this on my wish list as an option.

Hopefully the ability to open the set list edit window from the set list view will address this.

I did not know that! I must have missed those update notes. That's a great addition. But can those changes be saved as well? That makes me want to have the changes to saving I described even more.

There are scenarios where we don't know if we'd want to save changes or not, but admittedly, that's not too often. It would most likely be when we're piloting a new setlist when we'd know that we'd want to save quick added songs or song reorderings. Regardless, I think the current implementation is problematic because it's too easy to forget if that setting is on or off since it's buried in the advanced menu. This can lead to a lot of set lists being edited and/or not saved inadvertently. The way I described I think is a more familiar approach for most users. It would be like editing a document and asking to keep or discard changes. And overall, it's just more clear to the user. If they don't want to be asked to save every time, then they can toggle the options off and have it behave like it does now.

Repertoire Help / Re: Set names in layouts?

Quote from: Insider0203 on October 10, 2025, 07:33:29 AMOther than the next set name, I can imagine putting custom text like "break for 15 minutes" "Set start time @10:30", etc.

You can turn on Settings > Appearance > Break Timer and then a countdown timer starting from the break duration will appear when you reach the break.

Quote from: thoseguys on October 10, 2025, 07:57:57 AMI sometimes will have them labelled as "earlier set" or "later set" but often just have them numbered.

What's the value of seeing "Later Set" or "Set 2" instead of "Break" when you get to a set break? I think being clearly told "now it's time for a break" is more valuable and relevant than being told at the end of set 1 that the next set is set 2.

Quote from: thoseguys on October 10, 2025, 07:57:57 AMit would be great to be able to enter custom longer-form text into the set that could be displayed (rather than just a pause name) in cases where it would be helpful to have more text than will fit on one line without being truncated

You can go to Repertoire > Pause Names, edit a pause name and add more text to the Details field. That will display when you get to a pause in the set list.

QuoteIn the advanced settings, users can be offered the options to "always save songs added from search", "never save songs added from search" or "ask to save each time". This would allow users to preserve the way the search function works now if they wish.

Do you not know before the show if you're going to want to save your quick added songs or not? If you do know, you can get all three options by turning the existing setting on or off, and duplicating your set list ahead of time if you want to save as a new set list. If that doesn't address this, please describe the scenario where you would want to be prompted about your save preferences whenever you leave an updated set list.

QuoteI have asked previously if reordering songs in the set could also be done over live sharing without an internet connection
