Repertoire Help / Remote Control BlueBoard CC 20-23
« Last post by Papa John on July 08, 2020, 10:59:53 AM »
I sent this as a feature request, but maybe somone already knows a work-around.

I want to use two iRig BlueBoards at the same time to give me more foot control options.  When set on the "B" mode, I get midi notes and can trigger remote control events with those just fine.

To use a second BlueBoard i would need to set it to "C" mode which send command change messages 20-23.  However, for some reason BandHelper only lists 64-69 and 80-83 as options in the drop down.  Not sure why the list is so limited or how we could just get 20-23 added as well.

We didn‘t try it on an iPhone, but on an iPad, and it‘s the same issue on the old iPad 9.7 and on the iPad Pro 12.9.

Hmm, I see that problem on my phone and it seems to be related to the new window style for phones in iOS 13. Do you have the same database on a tablet (or a phone with an older iOS version) that you can export it from?

We‘re just trying to Switch from Setlist aber to Bandhelper. In setlistmaker there is actually an Export Function, Boing to help, utilities and then scroll down. There is an Option to Export the setlistmaker database to Bandhelper, but you cannot select it. Seems that the window is to small. Any idea, or any other option/ workaround how to transfer all songs from Setlistmaker to Bandhelper?

Repertoire Help / white border on black pdf in document viewer
« Last post by jwrioux on July 03, 2020, 08:02:45 PM »
I've set pdf documents up for my set list songs that have a completely black background. Yet when I double-tap them to go 'full screen', I invariably get a white border on two adjacent sides: top and left or right and bottom. I've changed the size of the pdf (I'm using Word pages printed to pdf format) but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't remember how this worked two years ago, but currently the lyrics scroll does animate when moving between markers.

Also, if you turn on the 2-column presentation option, the app will show one marker's worth of text in each column, with everything else hidden; that might make it easier to orient yourself to where you are in the song.

Can you find out if any of the other streaming software you've used has the same functionality to read in these text files?

the first answer is painful - I'm usually running BH on an iPad (or 2), but have been streaming on OBS on a win10 laptop, which is my first PC time since XP.
But i do sometimes use a mac laptop as well - gotta consider the jump to the newer OS, which i've been avoiding having gotten burned on several items with my last upgrade.. but it's a bit silly since that pain has already been inflicted.

In terms of standards, the lowest common denominator I can think of is individual text files - optimally separate Title & Artist (or I have a custom field for songwriter) -  it's what i've gone to on OBS for lower 3rd title graphics and such, because you can just update and save (so I have "Name A", "Title A", "Name B", "Title B", etc.. files).  I was thinking of trying to use an html option, so it could either be just 'now playing', or a cumulative list of songs played that compiles throughout the set.

I've been hoping to encounter a way of using a single spreadsheet or database for the titling data, but i have yet to sort out how to get the streaming program(s) to query xls

Just thought it would help with the interactivity that some of the streaming sites seem to be targeting.
And, a little after-thought - if it can be done, perhaps a slight/variable delay could be applied, so you don't give away the next tune while... tuning.

TIA for giving it some thought.

holy timelapse - i forgot about this one - and have more-or-less adapted to using the auto-scroll, and been tweaking layouts, run times, etc to make this work.
the whole 'remember to hit start' thing is still my nemesis.

using iPad  - with markers for song parts - verse, chorus etc..  I started out using as few markers as I could as page breaks, but found that having one for each part made for more tap-dancing, but was easier to keep track of what was going on.

What I had initially found was (particularly on songs where a verse and chorus fit neatly on a 'page') that I - as the person operating the pedal remote - could easily know where I was.  But others following (tracking the movements of my iPad) could look up, miss the page jump, and think they were in the wrong page/place.
