Account Help / Features missing after recent ...
Last post by megahertz - January 16, 2026, 11:56:15 AM
Hi. This is my 10th year using bandhelper. I've been at the 2-5 users level all along as far as I can remember.

In december, my account renewed and I paid $60, which is what it's been for many years.

Now I notice that my checklists and sessions seem to be gone. Did the UI change and I'm just not seeing them in a new place? I've never had trouble finding and using these before.

Or do I now need an upgrade of some sort to get these features back? And are my checklists and sessions gone forever? I sure hope not.

Thanks in advance.

You can set a color for MIDI presets and filter the list by color, or enter notes for MIDI presets and filter the list by notes text.

Hi Arlo

Hope you're doing well.

We're just in the process of updating our MIDI presets and purposes a bit, which means that we will have quite some commands for different pedal boards and even our light systems as we now can convert MIDI to DMX - super decent!

But that also means there will be quite a number of MIDI presets, that will be more and more difficult to overview. So I thought maybe there's a way to add tags or categories or any sort of filter other than the name of the preset. Currently I can only try to make the name as unique as possible with a prefix, so I can determine what the preset does.

But it would be nice to be able to differentiate them with dedicated fields for that.

I remember you wanted to re-purpose colors and tags at some point as well, maybe the MIDIs are something to take into consideration in those thoughts as well. Or "simply" user defined fields for different purposes or something like that.

Thanks a lot,
Chris

I don't have enough details to answer your question more specifically. But if you set up your presets correctly using 0-127 numbering and then you decide to use 1-128 numbering, you can change that and the presets will adjust, or vice-versa. If you set up your presets incorrectly, or made some other adjustment to account for some unusual setting on the receiving device, there is not an automated way to change them all.

Thanks Arlo! Thats a good idea to implement in the future as time allows for sure! Kind of a "one man band" running these bands so stretched a little thin right now but ill take your advice for sure once time allows. side note, I really like that we can view our users activity and the search functionality. It gives peace of mind seeing the people we staff these bands with logging in and showing their activity on the repertoire ahead of events rather than needing to check in and play baby sitter unless theyre inactive.  8)

Thats interesting to know! So if i select the 1-128 from the 0-127 as it is now It will change the numbers in the actual preset? As mentioned I started with the "midi device" setting already on 0-127 and to line up on the hardware i had to -1 every single midi preset and with all 200 working now im a little nervous to change things just for the sake of midi house keeping to make it proper.

current bandhelper in 0-127 mode>  32-0-000 = kit 1 And 32-1-0 = kit 129 on the spd-sx

There would be a lot of downsides to making the audio streaming only rather than downloading it.

I suggest making a low-quality version of each recording and assigning those to most users, and only assign the high-quality versions to the users you trust. You can attach both versions to your songs and each user will only get the version assigned to them.

If you change the Numbering setting in BandHelper, all your program and control change entries will adjust automatically.

I would like to be able to protect our custom tracks from being downloaded by subs & musicians without clear permission.

We upload many of our FOH tracks along side the reference tracks so musicians can practice with the cues and actual elements in the live track and I would like to limit it to playback only and not be easily downloaded in the case that were working with an opportunist that may intend to download and use for free what's taken us six years and a lot of time & money to put together.

Would that be a possible additional option for us?

I made a mistake early on when programing for my SPD-SX Pro and had the wrong mode selected on the SPD-SX so I made all 200 kits on the SPD-SX 1 digit ahead which during the learning experience lead me to subtract one number on every program change when saving on the bandhelper app. Now I have 200 program changes saved and working just fine but its a pretty unnessasary hack since it could have been as simple as just selecting the correct mode so the numbers are the same on both devices. It would be useful for a +1/-1 shift to "select all" midi presets and change the value by 1 in either direction or something to that effect so the user could then select the correct mode in the midi device section and be on track quickly rather than going in and changing all 200.
