Repertoire Help / Re: MIDI Status Viewer

Yes, clicking the MIDI button in the top toolbar shows an Activity Log that is good for  troubleshooting any setup problems. The OP is describing something more like a GUI MIDI controller, except to display the results of outgoing MIDI rather than to send MIDI.

I have the ability to build a custom MIDI controller interface on my wish list, but this has always been conceived for the purpose of manually sending MIDI values. But I guess it could also reflect MIDI values that were sent from presets. I'll make a note of that.

You also mentioned "one button for On and Off (lit while on) instead of separate on & off preset icons." You can do that now using the Paired Preset function. You would create two presets, for the On and Off value of a setting, then edit the On preset and select the Off preset as a paired preset. Then attach only the On preset to your song. Then you will get a single button in the layout that acts as an on/off toggle.

If you were not up to date with the app version on the old iPad, then depending on how you set up the new iPad you might have missed the updates to your database for all the app versions you skipped. Please click Help > Utilities > Update Database Version on the new iPad. If that doesn't fix it, please submit a help ticket.

Repertoire Help / MIDI Learn / iPad Pro / USB No...
Last post by EnjoyRC - April 12, 2024, 09:37:53 AM
I have connected my NORD STAGE 4 and Fantom 06 via USB to iPad Pro.
I can open PROTOKOL and see the MIDI patch changes MSB/LSB/PC when I tap them on either synth. I take note of the MIDI Channel too. I create a MIDI Device in BandHelper (newest version). I set the in port and the channel properly.
Now I want to make a MIDI Preset. I name it, and hit MIDI Learn. Tap the Preset button on the synth.... Nothing. I can see the MIDI icon (status) on top flashing when I try. I tap the MIDI icon to view the Midi data. I can see the data coming in. How can I properly use the MIDI Learn populate the preset fields? Please advise.

Repertoire Help / Tempo flash colours

I find it hard or realistically impossible to distinguish the downbeat colour.
Any chance of some choices please?  Even a pattern for the 'other' beats, if tablets will do that.
Thanks

Is there a chance of a BH Midi Viewer?
With a bunch of real-time Midi events to manage for guitar(s) and mixer, it's not easy to see if what's happening is just what's needed and when, at home, without getting the guitar gear and the digital mixer and its control screen into the very small space in my 'office'.  I rarely set them up in there for any other reasons.

So I'm imagining a BH view/viewer, showing the current state of selected midi devices:  One or more sizeable boxes, optionally per-device, containing chosen buttons or controls, to at least see what switches/effects are on/off and when that happens; and probably pointed knobs (with value, depending on size?) for CC items.  Nice if I can press the buttons at the required moment (as can be done now) but with one button for On and Off (lit while on) instead of separate on & off preset icons.  The existing ones don't remain 'on', being separate for the 2 tasks.  Possibly draggable-to-edit knob values.
I can imagine this being in a re-sizeable block in BH layouts or perhaps a larger one, 'following' on a separate device - a phone or even a PC window - via Bluetooth?  (this is a home-use situation).
Current 'patch' too.
Can I currently see at least how many events are in a song for each device? I don't think so.  A nice, reassuring comfort feature for those new songs.

All of this would require a couple of extra items in the Device/Preset definitions, to associate a pair for a button and allocate colours. Perhaps a very brief label for least real-estate.

Repertoire Help / Monospaced Font in Song Notes?
Last post by PoidaBass - April 12, 2024, 01:42:59 AM
Hi there, I have a need to create drum notes in monospaced fonts. I read on here how to set the Song Lyrics to monospace font and that is working well but it encroaches on the actual song lyrics space. Yes I can put it in the lyrics field but it'd be ideal to be able to tap on the notes pin to view my drum tab in fixed width and separate from the lyrics.

Something like this is what I'm wanting to see in the song notes but in fixed width:
HH |x x x x |x x x x |x x x x |x x x x |
TT |        |        |        |        |
SD |  °   ° |  °   ° |  °   ° |  °   °°|
BD |°   °   |°   °   |°   °   |°   °   |

Any ideas please? Can't seem to find a font option for Song Notes and I've searched on here for "Notes Monospace".

Thanks for helping  :)

Repertoire Help / Show/Hide Document Viewer does...
Last post by billrow - April 11, 2024, 12:56:45 PM
I have installed BandHelper on a new iPad, which seems to be a new release from what I had before. My preferred layout comes up fine, but I can't seem to get the function to bring document up in full-screen, and then hide it. Under "Settings/App Control" I have "Show/Hide Document Viewer" set to "Two-Fingered Tap", which seems to be an active action. But it does nothing withing the layout. ?? Also tried "Three-Fingered Tap".
